This is a sincere and heartfelt thank you to everyone who sent Illinois Family Action and me encouraging words of support this week. I prefer to respond personally to each individual who takes the time to contact us, but we received so many positive emails that I couldn’t keep up.
Following my articles on the critical importance of the social issues and the need to challenge anyone—even Republicans—who fails to acknowledge their role in maintaining a healthy and free society, we received scores of positive emails. As I mentioned in one of my articles, criticizing a Republican carries with it some risks for us—namely, support, including financial support.
We recognize, however, that “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil,” and we are committed to speaking truth, doing the best we can to discern truth through our flawed human eyes.… Continue Reading
Illinois Family Action (IFA) has received a fair number of responses to recent articles on a local election in suburbs north of Chicago, only one of which was critical. Frankly, we expected more critical emails. It’s tempting as a non-profit organization to avoid offending our supporters, but IFA (and our sister organization, Illinois Family Institute) is committed first to biblical truth. Our mission is not to defend Republicans.
That said, we realize that the Republican Party is our best hope for defending the preborn, marriage, family, and religious liberty. And we think that serving truth first will ultimately restore the integrity of the Illinois GOP — but not without some pain in the process.
To reiterate, IFA is not an arm of the Republican Party, but we do recognize that the Republican Party more closely aligns with our mission and does so more often than does the Democratic Party.… Continue Reading
With 42 days left before Americans go to the polls to elect state and federal officials, we have a rapidly closing window of opportunity to influence local elections. The last 40 days before an election is a fantastic time to exercise your civic duty and at the same time promote conservative ideals and help elect candidates who share your values.
Contact the IFA office at (708) 781-9371 and we will help you identify a good, family-friendly local campaign in which you can help make phone calls, stuff envelopes, assemble yard signs, distribute literature, march in parades and a variety of other tasks.
This upcoming election in November will be historic in terms of its effect on values that are critical to Illinois families. … Continue Reading
Almost all of those who have emailed us following our exposé of Dr. Arie Friedman’s pro-abortion position have expressed shock about his views, which he does not include on his website and which we have learned are even more extreme than we realized.
Although Friedman did not return IFI’s survey on his positions or the survey sent out by Illinois Citizens for Life, he did express his views to the Buffalo Grove Patch in June:
“Friedman indicated he supports a women’s right to choose. ‘I am completely prochoice,’ he said.”
If you read the short article in the Buffalo Grove Patch, you’ll see that Friedman opposes even parental notification laws pertaining to abortion. He and his opponent Julie Morrison are vying for the dubious honor of most anti-life candidate.… Continue Reading
Can anyone forget that Republicans have been lectured ad nauseum that they need to call a truce on the social issues and that all that matters is the economy?
Well, the barely concealed truth has been fully exposed in “Republican” Arie Friedman’s recent election flyer. It reveals that the truce the Illinois GOP is demanding is really a forfeit by conservative Republicans. Dr. Friedman’s flyer reveals that faux Republicans are free to pursue their anti-life agenda with impunity and without paternalistic lectures from the all-knowing Illinois GOP.
Friedman is running for the Illinois Senate in the 29th District. His campaign—with the blessing of the Illinois Republican Party—just sent out a full-color, wildly enthusiastic flyer indicating that Friedman is a full-color, wildly enthusiastic booster of women’s “right” to kill their babies.… Continue Reading
While this past weekend saw an 18% decline in movie box office receipts from last year and drew the least income among the top 12 grossing films since 2008, one movie is doing better than most people ever predicted. Dinesh D’Souza’s 2016: Obama’s America, the conservative feature film has earned over $26 million in the US, making it the second highest-grossing political documentary of all-time.
Although not on a huge number of screens and widely dismissed by the media, the film is doing well and more importantly it is worth seeing. I have been a fan of Dinesh D’Souza for a long time. In fact, I am still reeling from losing my signed copy of his outstanding book, What’s So Great About Christianity?… Continue Reading
While it would have been appropriate, there was no reference to rebellion against King George proclaimed last Monday outside the Will County Courthouse when 39 county officials and candidates signed the “Will County Declaration of Independence from Cook County-style politics.”
The modern day Will County rebels were clearly Inspired by America’s Founding Fathers and their example of severing ties with the tax-demanding, insatiable, corrupt English crown on July 4, 1776. Each person that stood at the podium last Monday sounded like he could have been John Adams or Thomas Jefferson 236 years ago. This time though, the outrage was against the Chicago Way, the Chicago-Cook County Way, and the Chicago Machine. They too rejected domination from those outside their borders and corruption within.
Will County Board District 13 candidate Tim Kraulidis started the rally off saying Will County Democrats had betrayed their constituents.
“But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.” ~Matthew 10:33
Are you a believer? I’m not asking if you’re a Democrat, a Republican or an independent. I’m asking if you believe in God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God of the living, not the dead. The great “I Am.”
If so, here’s something to seriously consider in the voting booth on Nov. 6. In its official 2012 version, the Democratic Party finally scrubbed all recognition of God from its party platform. This was intentional. It was by design. No one should have been surprised. It was a long time coming.
In just the last decade or so, extremist elements within the Democratic establishment have lodged a successful secular-socialist coup.… Continue Reading
