In 2013, author John S. Dickerson wrote about the troubling condition of the American church in his book “The Great Evangelical Recession: 6 Factors That Will Crash the American Church and How to Prepare.”
Mr. Dickerson‘s key premise was that Christian orthodoxy in the United States is in rapid decline. The evidence he presented to support what, at first glance, seems to be a terminal diagnosis is multifaceted.
According to Mr.… Continue Reading

How bad is the situation at the Southwest border?
I attended a hearing Thursday of the U.S. House Subcommittee on National Security, the Border and Foreign Affairs on the consequences of the current “catch and release” policies to observe how members of both parties address an issue that troubles American voters.
The situation at the border is so downright scary, Jessica Vaughan of the pro-enforcement Center for Immigration Studies testified, that Mexican cartels now are making more money from human trafficking than drug trafficking.… Continue Reading

Foreign policy is no different from domestic policy in that most programs our government wants to fund address problems that our previous policies caused. Hence, the cycle of government. When it comes to foreign aid, how about we first stop funding the problem before throwing endless funding at a solution — while continuing to fund the problem?
Nowhere is this cycle of insanity more evident than with Joe Biden’s massive Israel aid package (primarily consisting of Ukraine grift), while he handcuffs the Jewish state’s self-defense efforts and continues to fund its enemies, including the Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.… Continue Reading

Texas’ southern border is being invaded.
That’s not me being hyperbolic, it’s the official state of the state since Governor Greg Abbott invoked Article 1 of the U.S. Constitution to defend against Mexican drug cartels crossing into the country over his state line.
“The federal government’s failure has forced me to invoke Article I, § 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, thereby enabling the State of Texas to protect its own territory against invasion by the Mexican drug cartels,” Abbott said in a letter to President Biden. … Continue Reading

As with ProPublica’s recent smear of Clarence Thomas, there’s a lot of excitement across the left-wing Twittersphere over a Politico hit on Neil Gorsuch. But even as a transparent piece of partisan propaganda, it is poorly conceived.
Politico kicks off the piece, “Law firm head bought Gorsuch-owned property,” with a purposefully deceptive claim: “For nearly two years beginning in 2015, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch sought a buyer for a 40-acre tract of property he co-owned in rural Granby, Colo.”… Continue Reading

National Public Radio left Twitter in a hilarious huff. In a statement, CEO John Lansing announced, “We are not putting our journalism on platforms that have demonstrated an interest in undermining our credibility and the public’s understanding of our editorial independence.”
This contains multiple layers of comedy. For starters, NPR is a platform that has demonstrated an incredibly aggressive interest in undermining the credibility of Fox News Channel and the public’s understanding of how it balances out NPR’s relentless liberal bias and censorship.… Continue Reading

In our materialistic modern age, we sometimes need reminders that Lucifer is real and up to no good. And that God is infinitely more powerful.
Years ago, LGBTQ activists picketed a church in Anchorage, Alaska, because the church opposed a gay rights ordinance. The protesters noticed a guy dressed in a devil suit with a pitchfork marching beside them. When they asked what he was doing, he said, “Oh, the pastor sent me out here.… Continue Reading

Several years ago, the graduating class at the high school where I teach asked me to give their commencement address. In hindsight, I should have known better than to stray from the tried and tested formula for graduation speakers. Young, brash, and always eager to say something that would be remembered, I made the fateful decision to stray from the culturally approved list of platitudes that everyone knows you are supposed to tell high school graduates:
- “You can do anything you set your mind to.”

When my wife and I were in Colonial Williamsburg several years ago, we talked briefly to a store clerk about an unwanted change – the passing of a longtime pharmacy in the Market Square area near the William & Mary campus.
The pharmacy had an old-fashioned lunch counter that served up the best milkshakes and limeades we had ever tasted. Now it was gone.
As we lamented its replacement by a chain store, the clerk stiffened her spine and barked, “Change is good!”… Continue Reading

Someone in the FBI keeps leaking materials that agents seized during the shocking, unprecedented nine-hour raid of former President Donald Trump’s Florida home on August 8.
We know this because supposedly sensitive documents keep turning up in the Washington Post. Of course, they do. The paper justifies its eager role in the FBI-fueled witch hunt against Mr. Trump by claiming concern for “national security.”
If that’s their motive, the Post should report on President Joe Biden’s dangerous foreign policies and his perversion of our armed forces into a “safe space” for Corporal Klinger.… Continue Reading
