Republicans Supporting Traditional, Biblical Marriage

We are thankful for the many Illinoisans who know what is true and good, who recognize the proper role of government, and who have the courage to stand for truth in the public square with grace and boldness.

Here is a copy of the letter one such Illinoisan sent to the Republican State Central Committee in regard to the Pat Brady debacle.

To all on the GOP State Central Committee:

I never thought I would have to write an email like this, so I’ll be blunt and short.  I am nothing short of shocked that our own Republican party has betrayed its stance on gay marriage.  I implore you to stand firm on this issue, and vote out of power anyone that stands on the other side of God’s incredibly clear direction to us on this issue.  Projecting forward where our State of Illinois is heading on its current fiscal path, the future is bleak, but still worth staying and fighting for.  If we Illinois Republicans change course with lukewarm leaders that will not stand firm on Biblical Truth, we have no hope.

Read Revelation 3:15-16.  The warning to the Church in Laodicea is shouting out to us Illinois Republicans, for in that passage we see it is actually better to be on one side or the other, but not in the middle.  To be lukewarm is actually the worst you can be.  We will be spit out if we compromise for political reasons on this issue.  Please stand firm.  It may seem to you like a close call if you consider the political ramifications of your decision in the short run, but in the long run, trust me, you want to be able at the end of your life to look back and know that you made the right decision.  Every decision you make should be consistent with God’s direction, not man’s.

The future of Illinois families, and thus the future of Illinois, is at stake.  Please make the right decision and reconsider Saturday’s vote to keep Pat Brady as our leader.  We are far better off as a party if we are a unified small minority here in Illinois on the right side of this issue than to be a splintered yet larger (but still a minority) party that has voluntarily let go of our spiritual moorings.  God help us if the Republican party compromises on this issue.  In case you haven’t yet read the book The Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn, I urge you to read it carefully and quickly and then make your decision.  That book is perhaps one of the last great wake-up call opportunities we as a nation may have.

Thank you for your service and time.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments.

Very truly yours,
