Giuliani Doubles Down: Obama Doesn’t Love America

A former mayor of New York City and one-time presidential hopeful isn’t backing down from his critical comments about President Obama.

Last Wednesday evening, Rudy Giuliani said he doesn’t believe Barack Obama loves America and offered a list of reasons why. Giuliani’s comments drew fierce reaction, even from Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who during “The Kelly File” stated there was “outrage and backlash” at the remarks the 2008 presidential candidate made at a private fundraiser for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, a prospective GOP presidential candidate for 2016.

But when asked by Kelly if he wanted to apologize, Giuliani not only refused – he doubled down on his remarks.

“The reality is that from all that I can see of this president, all that I’ve heard of him, he apologizes for America, he criticizes America, he talks about the Crusades and how the Christians were barbarians – leaves out the second half of the sentence, that the Muslims were barbarians also,” the former NYC mayor said.

“He sees Christians slaughtered and doesn’t stand up and hold a press conference, although he holds a press conference for the situation in Ferguson. He sees Jews being killed for anti-Semitic reasons, [but] doesn’t stand up and hold a press conference. This is an American president I’ve never seen before.”

Kelly continued to question Giuliani’s opinion that Obama doesn’t love America, but the former mayor said Obama’s background is rooted in anti-American sentiment.

“I’m talking about a man who grew up under the influence of Frank Marshall Davis, who was a member of the Communist Party, who [Obama] refers to over and over in his book, who was a tremendous critic of the United States,” Giuliani continued. “This is a man who worked under Saul Alinsky, who was a tremendous critic of the United States.

“I believe [the president’s] initial approach is to criticize this country – and then afterwards to say a few nice things about us.”

Giuliani pointed out that former presidents who were liberal Democrats – like Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton – even displayed a heartfelt love for America, but Obama does not.
